You guys want to know how I spent my birthday? Oya let me gist una small. I spent the day with my family. We cut cake. Lol! Okay you want the highlight of the day? It was going to see Kunle Afolayan's October 1 at the Silverbird Galleria. Before you people start dissing me,I know I carried last on that one. Movie wey don dey show since when? But there's a saying which goes: Better late than never. Anyways,Olowo Ori Mi took me to the cinemas, and I enjoyed every bit of that movie, eventhough I initially wanted to watch "When Love Happens". We got to the cinema, and they were telling us one yeye story about a technical issue they had with "When Love Happens". So after much persuasion by Olowo Ori Mi, I decided to see the much talked about October 1. We enjoyed every scene of the film! We laughed so hard thanks to hilarious veteran actor Kayode Olaiya a.k.a Aderupoko who played the role of Inspector Afonja. Just like the rest of the actors in the movie,he played his role so well,as he got everyone in the cinema hall laughing real hard. Apart from Kayode Olaiya, effortlessly charming and talented newbie Demola Adedoyin who played Prince Aderopo, and Dan Waziri played by Sadiq Daba also got an applause from me. Yes! They made the movie so believable. Great movie! And Errm, that was my first time of watching a Kunle Afolayan movie. I never got the chance to watch Irapada, and The Figurine. But this one wey I watch, I enjoy baje baje!. Talking about value for ya money. We nor waste money at all.
If you still haven't seen the movie you don carry last niyen o. October 1 is a dark psychological thriller that tells the story of a Northern Nigerian Police Detective, Dan Waziri (played by Sadiq Daba). Waziri is dispatched by the Colonial Government to the trading post town of Akote, in the Western Region of Nigeria, to solve a series of female murders that have struck horror in the hearts and minds of the local community before the Nigerian flag is raised on October 1 1960, Nigeria's independence Day.
